Hello Rainbow Card

March 23, 2022

Hello, indeed! I'm over on the Poppystamps blog today with a challenge reminder about their monthly challenge. This month the challenge is to use pretty papers.

I love the new Poppystamp Freestyle word dies. They're the perfect size and weight for any size card and they all come with a shadow background die.

I wanted to use a rainbow, so I started by picking out 11 different Stampin' Up! cardstock colors to make into a rainbow. I had to raid years of scraps to get just what I was looking for. I die cut the Freestyle Hello shadow 11 times for the image I was going for. I chose a brushed metal-looking cardstock (Recollections from Michael's) from my stash to use as a background. I added some texture and dimension by dry embossing it with the Memory Box Waves 3D embossing folder. Next, I glued down each shadow die cut, in rainbow order from the top of the card to the center. I let the red one hang off the top to give the sense of a never-ending rainbow. I planned out how much of each would show and then glued one on top of the other in just the right place. I eyeballed it, but used a ruler to keep the shadows straight on the left side. Finally, I adhered my white cardstock Hello on the last shadow. I used a variety of rhinestones and some Poppystamps Fairy Jewels to give the card front some sparkle.

It was a very easy card to complete. Hope you're having an easy day yourself.
