Whew, June has been a whirlwind. My family was in Denver on June 1 for my niece's lovely wedding. I've attended a scrapbooking convention in Denton, TX and had a fun four days with some dear friends from high school, most recently.

A little family-run stamp company (at least 35 years old) called Stamps by Judith & Heather is always at these conventions. They make hand-drawn stamps that are all meant for scene building. Many of their stamps are woodblock, especially the small ones that are mounted on the end of a wooden dowel - you know, peg stamps, also known as "stubbies." The fact that you can mix and match hundreds of different images (lots of florals, animals, cute containers, insects, scenery and more) is what makes their stamps so unique and fun.

You can find some of their videos on Facebook and some older ones on YouTube. The stamping goes FAST, which is fun. Heather does ALL her coloring on 22lb copy paper (later glued to cardstock) and then colors with Tombow water-based markers and a blender pen.

The first time I bought some of her stamps -- I think it was 2018 -- I didn't know what to do, except for a big Mason jar stamp (which I have filled with images like M&M's). Now, I am much better at Copic coloring, so when I saw the plethora of stamps I could color at her booth last week, I went all in.

I used a scruffy dog, grass, a tin bucket, leaves, mushrooms, a small green plant, a pumpkin and a little heart to build my scene. I used Post-It masking with the bucket, dog, pumpkins and mushrooms to make them appear layered like I wanted. I colored with Copics, Spectrum Noir markers and Dick Blick alcohol ink markers. I added the dots line at the end and added a Simon Says Stamp sentiment strip along with a tiny strip of Stampin' Up's Poppy Parade CS, with a Tiny Attacher by Tim Holtz in the left top corner.

Cardstock was Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 110lb, plus Stampin' Up's Mossy Meadow. I die cut the card front panels with mini slimline dies by Popsicle Sticks from Etsy. Rest assured, I'll be using more and more of these stamps on my cards.

I am entering this card at Addicted to Stamps & More #471, The Outlawz Challenges, and Double Trouble.

There is nothing quite as sweet as the images by Anita Jeram for Colorado Craft Company. I pulled out these Tea Time sweeties to enter the Color Throwdown Challenge #743. Lime, Pink and White are the colors required with neutrals (gray here) allowed. I am also entering the Art Impressions Challenge. I made a video of putting together this card including all my coloring and I plan to edit it to use as an Instagram reel in the coming days. My files are larger than normal because I just left my phone recording the entire time I was coloring all the images. Gonna be a bugger to edit. (Edit: Video is finished and on my reels on IG @tinypaperblossom.)

I colored all the images with alcohol markers by Copic, Dick Blick, and Spectrum Noir. I cut them out with the matching dies. Next, I used Sweetly Stitched Shapes dies from Stampin' Up! to cut out all the stitched circles from old Stampin' Up! and Jillibean Soup paper. I used a die from the Mama Elephant Window Dressings die set to cut the white panel. I used plenty of foam adhesive to build the dimension on this card. Finally, I used a sentiment from My Favorite Things Birdie Brown's Greetings Galore attached with the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher. I made the fishtail with a small square punch.

I have many more images from Colorado Craft Company and Anita Jeram colored; I just need to make them into cards.

Have a great day!

When I received all the new floral dies from Poppystamps, I was super inspired by a post I had seen on Pinterest. I decided to CASE the amazing Zsoka Marko and her December 2022 card that you can see here on her blog A Pocket Full of Scrap.

I wanted to make a very special Valentine for a dear relative who is suffering from some dementia. First, I cut the scalloped heart from the Vintage Scalloped Heart die set from Neenah 110lb solar white cardstock. Next, I cut out a lot of flowers from the same cardstock using the following Poppystamps sets: Little Posie Layered Flowers, Little Layered Asters, Lucky Layered Flowers, Layered Pointy Petals, and the Floral Vase Pop Up Easel die set. I colored all the flowers with alcohol ink markers including Copic, Dick Blick, and Spectrum Noir. I used the leaves from the Floral Vase Pop Up Easel and cut them from Stampin' Up Basic Gray cardstock matching the background. I arranged all the leaves on the white heart and glued them down, then layered the flowers on top to emphasize the heart shape as best I could.

For the background, I took another piece of gray cardstock and spritzed it with water on front and back so the fibers would bend well. I ran this through the Stunning Mandala 3D embossing folder by Memory Box (it's so beautiful). I trimmed the edges and layered it onto a Stampin' Up! Petal Pink card base. I glued the floral heart at the center of the mandala and used a computer printed sentiment popped up with foam tape on the card. Finally, I added Nuvo Crystal Drops around the heart (these are the only 3 colors I have, but I want more).

I was really pleased with how it turned out. The gray background makes the colors stand out so well, yet isn't as harsh as black.

It's already on it's way to a special person.

I hope your February is allowing time to relax and craft.

It's May and there is a lot to celebrate. Spring has finally sprung nationwide (although I was fortunate enough to see snow in Utah just 2 weeks ago). Graduations are happening and Poppystamps has a brand new release. I'm entering several challenges with this graduation card. It is meant for a girl who is like another daughter to me and  features several of the new PS dies. I love the way this card by Kay Miller @kaym2015 for The Color Throwdown Challenge in 2016 combines a tiny frame and flowers.

One of the challenges I am entering is the Card Concept Challenge. They have this gorgeous inspiration photo and ask you to tell what style of card you are doing.

Until I clicked on their definitions link, I was clueless about what "style" I had picked. I really love their definitions and they will help me in the future. Today's card is Clean and Layered. I chose it because the photo is bursting with gorgeous flowers and greenery on a blue-gray background. It's like spring crammed into a square. That is what I am representing here.

I am also entering the As You Like It Challenge. I chose this design because I love squares and tiny, little details surrounded by clean space. I love miniatures (how I never owned a doll house growing up, I'll never know) and so coloring and layering *tiny paper blossoms* (ahem) on top of a stitched square frame was right up my alley.

Other challenges I am entering are:

I started with using the second and third smallest dies in Art Impressions Nested Stitched Squares die set to cut a frame from Stampin' Up!'s (retired) Baja Breeze cardstock. I knew I wanted greenery so I used Tim Holtz's Garden Greens die set and cut three pieces from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb cardstock with those dies (the two green leaves and the vanilla-colored sprig). I colored these with Copics (YG95, YG97) and the vanilla was from a Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend marker.

Next, I broke open three of my brand new Poppystamp dies: Layered Fringe Flowers, Layered Lovely Flowers and Petite Blooms Flower Set. I used the smallest of these dies and colored them with a combination that was primarily Copic or Dick Blick alcohol ink markers. I watercolored one flower that had been cut from Canson XL watercolor paper with Stampin' Up!'s retired Berry Burst ink and also used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers on some of the yellow centers. I used a splatter stamp from Stampin' Up!'s Awesomely Artistic and Gorgeous Grunge stamp sets with Soft Sky ink to apply a controlled splatter to the background. I layered my flowers and leaves under and on top of the frame using foam adhesive tape and the same Neenah cardstock for my card base. I just loved the sentiment of "At Last" from Stampin' Up!'s And Many More stamp set and added that - stamped in black - on the side of the frame, per both the sketch and Kay Miller's card. I added a few sequins to catch the light and I was done.

This is a very different type of graduation card, but I think "Daughter #4" will like it (FYI, I have 2 daughters, but 3 other girls who are best friends with my daughters who my husband and I refer to as "#3, #4, and #5" - we love them all).

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I wasn't going to miss a chance to play with my sweet My Favorite Things Harvest Mouse stamp and die set. A friend of mine gave me a set of neutral colored mini slimline notecards (they open at the top, not the side) and envelopes and I immediately thought I could do something small and simple with them.

I colored all the images with alcohol markers, die cut them and glued them above a sentiment I stamped directly on the card. I wanted to leave a lot of open space above the images to make it a true clean and simple design. Now, how easy was that?

Ingredients:

CS: Pre-made Stampin' Up! Sahara Sand mini-slimline notecards, Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 110lb

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Markers: From Copic, Dick Blick, Spectrum Noir

Stamps: MFT Harvest Mouse with matching dies, sentiment from Stampin' Up! Lighthearted Leaves

I decided to enter a few challenges and let them drive my design this week. The Global Design Project CASE the Designer challenge was the most unique. The challenge was to Copy And Selectively Edit from this original.

I am still enjoying my MFT Harvest Mouse stamps, so I paired this mouse with 3 dies and one embossing folder. I colored the mouse and apple basket with alcohol markers and then die cut them. Next I used a stitch circle die with kraft paper and dry embossed the circle. I wanted to mimic the leaves in the original design and I used two different dies to do that. I wanted a red background to pick up the color of the apples and found this double-sided piece in my stash.  I wanted to use a kraft cardstock base but wanted something to give it interest. I used a very old  background stamp with Versamark on the card base. I assembled it all using both liquid glue and foam adhesive, and tied twine around the main portion just like in the original. I added the sentiment after I’d heat embossed it.
