Here is my second card featuring the Poppystamps Whittle Adorable Kitty Kit card this month. I knew I wanted to use the walking cat die that comes in the kit and had the idea to use it on the top third of the card following a card layout I admired. I also liked the sitting cat die and how the two would face each other if I used them together.
I wanted to incorporate red and black as they are my recipient's alma mater school colors. I die cut the two cats from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb cardstock and colored them with a variety of Copic markers to give them the appropriate cat stripes. I used a strip of black ultra-fine glitter paper from an old 12x12 paper pad, and one portion of the largest frame made by the Double Scalloped Stitched Frame die cut from Stampin' Up!'s Real Red cardstock as the trim. I put this trim at the top of a piece of red and white gingham paper from My Favorite Things Petite Gingham 6x6 Paper Pad that I cut to cover the remaining 2/3 of the card base.
I adhered the cats with foam adhesive and realized I had some space left over between the two, but not enough for another cat. The largest of two-hearts die that is conveniently included with the Kitty Kit fit perfectly in this spot, and cutting it from Real Red cardstock was just the answer I was looking for.
Next, I used the stamps from the Kitty Kit to heat emboss You're Purrfect in Taylored Expressions white powder onto Recollections black cardstock. I adhered this just below my trim. Finally, I wanted a "stream" of pretty red and white confetti to trail down from the sentiment. I used red sequins from Amazon, the smaller hearts from the included two-hearts die, and other white, silver and iridescent sequins from Dress My Craft White Sunshine sequins mix.
I had a lot of fun making this card. Do you make cards with animals in them?
