Blue Leaf Birthday

September 13, 2021

While I love making detailed and complicated cards, it's a breath of fresh air to make a clean and simple (CAS) design. I saw a couple of challenges on the CAS card blogs - one at AAA Cards and one at Addicted to CAS (see links below) - and thought up this idea. I wanted to do a twist on the fall leaf always showing up as orange, red, yellow or burgundy. I love autumn and all its colors. My friends and family will tell you I am obsessed with pumpkins (true), but I wanted to change it up with cool blues. I chose Distress Oxides plus some stamps to create a collage look, finishing off with a gold splatter stamp plus a tiny sentiment.

  4. Great idea to use an unconventional color for your leaf and I love your stamping, Janet! Adding a touch of gold to the leaf and sentiment strip was genius, too...Thanks so much for playing along with us at Addicted to CAS!

  5. I love your thinking Janet, firstly to have the leaf in this gorgeous blue and secondly to stamp leaves inside the shape of it. The result is stunning! Thank you for coming to play with us at Addicted to CAS. Vicky x
