I found a unique challenge at Double D Challenges to use white plus just one other color in your card. It didn't say monochrome -- just one other color. I love scene cards and realized it had been awhile since I had used this Mama Elephant Window Dressings Die set. It comes with so many different dies including windows, panels, curtains, butterflies, flowers and a flower box.
The birds are Poppystamps Whittle Birds die set. I love how detailed these are. Using Stampin' Up! Calypso Coral cardstock and Designer Series Paper (retired) and Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, I was able to pull off the challenge requirements.
I am also entering this at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (using a little critter). And Addicted to Stamps #430 (using die cuts or stencils).
Once again, the sentiment is computer-generated using a font called Posterama.

Texture is the name of the game for the April Poppystamps challenge, so I decided to try something different. I used a die to create a stencil and applied Distress Crackle paste to showcase the die's design.
I started with watercolor paper and liberally applied Speckled Egg Distress Spray Stain to create a mottled blue "wash" over the paper. I dried this with a heat gun and set it aside. Next, I used the Poppystamps Gilded Plate die to cut out a paper stencil from lightweight cardstock. I taped down the die cut on my watercolor paper and spread a thin layer of the crackle paste over it. I quickly lifted the paper stencil as soon as I was done. Making a stencil from paper or cardstock means it is one use only. There's no way to clean it and use it again.

It's called Meow Mix but I'm going to need to research the manufacturer. I stamped it on Gina K Pure Luxury Heavyweight white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored in tiny portions with gray and pink Copic and Spectrum Noir markers. I fussy cut it. I used a circle cutter to cut a large circle from the corner of a piece of white cardstock. Underneath that I put the green and white polka dot paper from Jillibean Soup (Soup Staples in Olive Sugar). I punched three hearts from SU's Melon Mambo cardstock with a retired triple heart punch from Stampin' Up!. I adhered the cat with foam adhesive and then the hearts, and then added the sentiment strip from Paper Rose.

I'm over on the Poppystamps blog today with this sweet slimline card featuring their Whittle Rainbow Unicorn die kit. It comes with two unicorns, clouds, a rainbow, stars, a moon and a heart. Basically, if Lucky Charms was a die kit, this would be it. It also includes a small set of sentiment stamps.
I love slimline cards and made this into one with three circular windows. I chose 3 pieces of blue cardstock for the sky backgrounds and punched out one 2.5" circle from each of them. Next I used almost all the dies in the kit to cut a variety of shapes. I also cut out 1 rainbow in toned-down rainbow shades of cardstock. The rainbow die simply cuts 6 rainbow shaped stripes, so there is still a need to glue the stripes down side by side to either your main card, or to another piece of small cardstock. I chose to glue them on to a scrap piece. Then I promptly cut it in half to use in two of the three windows.
I used the panel with the three circle windows to guide me in what I put where. I glued the background "scenes" directly onto the blue circles. Next, I glued the foreground pieces, onto the front of the white panel. I used glitter paper for my unicorn wings and horns. The manes I colored with a pale purple Spectrum Noir marker. Finally, I used foam adhesive to pop up the front panel onto the decorated card. My last move was to heat emboss the sentiment onto black cardstock with white embossing powder and glue it to the card front.
I want to give a special shout out to #VistaCreate. I was able to create my watermark using a font I uploaded, and get a transparent background, all without having to pay any subscription fee.

I decided to enter a few challenges and let them drive my design this week. The Global Design Project CASE the Designer challenge was the most unique. The challenge was to Copy And Selectively Edit from this original.
I am still enjoying my MFT Harvest Mouse stamps, so I paired this mouse with 3 dies and one embossing folder. I colored the mouse and apple basket with alcohol markers and then die cut them. Next I used a stitch circle die with kraft paper and dry embossed the circle. I wanted to mimic the leaves in the original design and I used two different dies to do that. I wanted a red background to pick up the color of the apples and found this double-sided piece in my stash. I wanted to use a kraft cardstock base but wanted something to give it interest. I used a very old background stamp with Versamark on the card base. I assembled it all using both liquid glue and foam adhesive, and tied twine around the main portion just like in the original. I added the sentiment after I’d heat embossed it.
